A small interactive tool built on World Bank data, for Egypt, Türkiye, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Tunisia, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. Pick an indicator, toggle countries on or off, and the chart redraws. It ties directly into several of the Teaching Notes on growth, inequality, and human capital.
All figures are pulled from the World Bank's Open Data service (World Development Indicators). The "Try live data" button asks a visitor's own browser to fetch the latest figures directly from the World Bank's API; if that request does not go through, for instance if the browser blocks it, the chart simply keeps showing the saved snapshot above, and says so. Nothing here is sent anywhere, the request only reads public data.
